Climate Repair Modules
Welcome to the program resource and 13 episodes!

The people and stories behind restoring our climate
1.
MODULES BREAKDOWN
Each module consists of video sequences, transcripts, discussion points and links to climate resources. Modules will be 'localized' to reflect local relevance and experiences.

MODULE 1
SERIES & CLIMATE OVERVIEW
MODULE 2
Data show us that over long periods of time, there is a close connection between the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere and the Earth's temperature: the more CO2, the warmer the climate.
How do we know? From geological timescales, comparing ice-core data over the last 800,000 years to the last 200 years, in which CO2 concentrations have accelerated like never before.

MODULE 3
THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION
There were great benefits to the industrial revolution. but we need to look at these in terms of who benefited from colonization, and who paid the costs. The industrial revolution's voracious appetite for fossil fuels continues to this day.

MODULE 4
A NATURAL ORDER & BALANCE
Our relationship with carbon is complicated. We are a carbon-based life form - and nearly all life on earth is carbon based. So why is CO2 such a problem?

MODULE 5
LAND USE CHANGE
An ever-growing population means an ever-growing demand for land to provide food, water and housing. This has a major impact on Earth's ability to absorb CO2. How can we effectively address land-use change and this 'ecological overshoot'?

MODULE 6
THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT
Construction accounts for around 37% of fossil fuel emissions - 8% of this from concrete alone!
We explore some of the many ways being developed to use carbon neutral and carbon negative building materials. And, how to create more liveable and healthy human settlements.

MODULE 7
OCEAN PERMACULTURE
Sargassum is a free-floating seaweed causing havoc along some coastlines. But it's fast-growing and absorbs masses of carbon. We meet organizations developing profitable businesses from sargassum.

MODULE 8
SEA LEVEL RISE
Sea level rise is an inevitable consequence of climate change. It's essential to understand how sea levels have changed over geological time, and how we must manage an orderly retreat from low-lying areas.
